Frequently Asked Questions

What is full-service interior design?

Full-service interior design involves a design team spending time with clients to learn how they use their space, crafting unique designs, and project management from concept to completion. The service leaves our clients with a complete space ready for enjoyment. KR Interior Design would love to be your go-to full-service interior designer in Summit, NJ

How much does it cost?

This is the million dollar question! We believe in being as transparent as possible in pricing and follow an hourly model. Every project is different, but based on historical data we can provide you an estimated amount of hours to complete your job. We keep detailed time tracking and will update you as the project moves along.

Can I make revisions to the designs I receive?

Client revisions will be billed at our hourly rate. But don’t worry, we normally only have minor revisions and work swiftly to land on a design you love.

Will KR Interior Design source the least expensive product?

We prioritize thoughtful, high-quality designs and products but will always work within a realistic budget. KR Interior Design has a network of partners and vendors who execute high-quality work, and we source from special trade accounts that can include expedited shipping, free samples, and white glove delivery- benefits we pass along to our clients.

Can I shop on my own?

When it comes to purchasing products for full-service design, KR Interior Design handles all ordering, tracking, receipt, delivery, and installation (furniture/accessories) of products. Invoices are submitted and paid before any ordering begins. We buy from trade-only vendors who we have established relationships. Clients do not have access to these vendors therefore shopping on your own will not be possible.

Do you work with contractors, architects, and builders?

Absolutely! Working with other professionals is a major part of our full-service design model.

How long does the project normally last?

This varies greatly depending on the scope of the project and will be discussed throughout the planning phase. Rough timing can be determined at the Project Kickoff and we will do our best to ensure the timeline is upheld. Things like shipping, damaged items, and late revisions can slow the process but rest assured we are working hard to keep things on track. Understand there will most likely be a problem child or two but this is completely normal and we will solve it!

What if the project scope increases from the original agreement?

If a client is interested in adding to the original scope, he/she should discuss with us ASAP. KR Interior Design can work together with the contractor, architect, builder, or any trades necessary and let the client know what can be done including the cost increase. We can normally amend our design agreement or create a new agreement, fee structure, and timeline.
